Games Britannia: Monopolies and Money

This is the second episode of the Games Britannia series, this episode is about the political and social impact that games have had over the last 200 years in Britain. We found out that board games were once used to teach children good and bad behaviour and reward them accordingly with missing turns or jumping ahead so many spaces, this was then adapted in America to help promote the idea of the American dream.

Monopoly and Cluedo were both games which had a type of area capturing mechanics which was to show how politics works to the public without actually stating it. This can be noticed as you must gain as many areas as possible so that you can earn the most money to beat your opponents who have a small amount of areas.
